AICPA Volunteers Needed to Develop or Review Questions on IFRS for CPA Examination

The AICPA Examinations Team is seeking professionals with solid skills and knowledge in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) to develop or review questions ("items") on IFRS for the Uniform CPA Examination. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the profession and the CPA Exam. To qualify, volunteers must have a current CPA license or comparable internationally recognized credential, such as the Chartered Accountant (CA) designation, a minimum of three years of experience as a licensed professional, and expertise in the application of IFRS. In addition, any of the following types of experience are highly desirable: supervision of entry-level CPAs, familiarity with the workplace responsibilities of entry-level CPAs, or teaching/instructing students or professionals on the proper application of IFRS. Volunteers may not be affiliated with any Uniform CPA Examination review course.

The AICPA Examinations Team is conducting the following workshops on an ongoing basis:

  • Item Development Workshops Held Via Web Conference (approximately 90 minutes), which provide an overview of the CPA Exam and instruction on item development. Following the Web conference, volunteers submit a few items via e-mail to AICPA Examinations Team Staff for their review and feedback. Then, volunteers independently develop a minimum of 15 items each in prescribed areas, which they submit via e-mail to the AICPA Examinations Team.
  • Item Development or Review Workshops Held in New York City Area (2 full days). An overview of the CPA Exam and instruction on question development occurs on Day 1 of the workshop. Following the presentation, volunteers work (primarily on an individual basis) to develop new items or review previously developed items.

To apply for this volunteer opportunity, send a resume or curriculum vitae to rwarias@aicpa.org.
